Course Summary
This is a complete math unit (221 slides) for teaching your students a variety of addition and subtraction math strategies (counting on, doubles, near doubles, etc.) and word problems. Within this unit each day begins with a stimulus or math warm up where you will ask the student what do they see or what do they notice. This promotes lots of different math talk and vocabulary to happen organically. Each lesson also includes an experience where the students will be working on a game, with the teacher and or using manipulatives. There are MANY different picture books used throughout the unit as well. You will notice that the last slide of each day is referred to as salt. These questions can be posed to the students and left for thought - keeping them thirsty to learn more the next day OR if you have time and want to dive into the salt question at the end of class you can. Recording sheets are included within the slides for you to print and use. I hope this product helps your students learn to love math time as mine have!
